Inspired by Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky, Dog Star Gifting is named for the guiding light sailors and seafarers have looked to for centuries. For those working offshore, Sirius is more than just a star – it’s a symbol of home, hope, and connection, reminding seafarers of loved ones waiting beneath the same sky.

Dog Star Gifting is a trading name of our mother company, Around The Sun Ltd, founded in the highlands of Scotland by Michael and his daughter Robyn, a Complementary Therapist, in 2023. Michael brings decades of experience in the offshore industry, having worked on survey vessels, ROV vessels, dive vessels, and drilling rigs worldwide. Our family, including a Master Mariner, remains actively employed in the offshore maritime sector. This deep-rooted connection to seafaring life inspired us to create Dog Star Gifting, a brand dedicated to providing comfort, connection, and thoughtful gifts for those who spend time away from home.
